Baseball Quote
It's a good thing Babe Ruth isn't here. If he was, George Steinbrenner would have him bat seventh and say he's overweight.

Announcements
2010 All Stars tournament games start this week

Come root for SBLL All Stars. The rain delayed the tournaments by two days; tough on our teams but it has made for some great games this weekend if you are looking for some entertainment.

9/10 team
Tomorrow, Saturday, July 10 at 9:00 am against one of the North Boulder teams at Hidden Lakes Field 2.  Our team got a bye in the first round so this will be their first game of the tournament.  North Boulder beat Sherrelwood to advance to this game.

10/11 team
Tonight, Friday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m. against North Boulder. Northern Lights Field 3. This will be a very competitive and fun game to watch. This North Boulder team dominated in their first two all-star games beating Platte Canyon 41-0 and Centaurus 15-0.  That said, our team had a very strong showing against their first opponent as well beating Northern Lights 17-4.

Majors 11/12 team
Tonight, Friday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m. against Centaurus at Carrol Butts field 4. Neither of these teams has played yet so both are coming in fresh with a full roster of pitchers.

Directions:

Carol Butts Fields--Take 36 to 104th going east to Lowell. Right on Lowell to 96th.  Right on 96th.  Fields are at 96th & Perry.

Northern Lights--Take 36 to Superior.  Get off on Superior Exit and take a left to Dillon Road.  Take Dillon Road east. Stay on Dillon Road as it turns into 144th.  Take 144th to York then got right on York.  Complex at 13900 York.

Hidden Lakes--US 36 to Sheridan.  Head south on Sheridan to 64th. Left on 64th heading east.  Then Left on Lowell heading North, then right on 66th. Fields are on your right.

  Looking for new board members

South Boulder Little League is an all-volunteer organization. This past spring it served over 400 youth providing a fun, safe, competitive, and positive baseball experience for our youth.  South Boulder Little League is governed by a board of directors. The board is looking for additional volunteers to participate on the SBLL Board. Currently, we have 14 SBLL parents who generously give their time serving.  Of these 10 are planning to seek reelection.

Members of the South Boulder Little League Board preside over the needs of the league for a term of one year beginning in October.  Each board member is assigned a specific role that meets their interests and skills. Areas of service include coordinators for T-Ball Rookies, Minors, Majors, Juniors, umpires, and Summer Ball. Other areas include field scheduling, officers (president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer), IT, registration, equipment, player agent, fundraising, and much more. We meet together once a month and also meet in smaller committees as needed.

The parents of SBLL elect the board.  A link to the on-line ballot will be emailed to parents in July.  For those interested in being included on this ballot, please email current board president Renae Foxhoven by July 12th.
